According to all available sources, this is the first film ever shot in Rwanda. Imagine what filming must have been like back then in 1950: Deborah Kerr, Stewart Granger and the cream of Hollywood in the land of a thousand hills, with no real infrastructure and relying on prevailing stereotypes to tell the story of a woman who travels to the heart of Africa in search of her husband.

Mu mateka y’u Rwanda arebana no gukora sinema, iyi niyo filime ya mbere yahakorewe mu w’i 1950 ! Nta yindi yongeye gukorwa kugeza muri 2001 ! Umuntu yakwibaza ukuntu byari bigoye gukorera filime mu Rwanda rw’icyo gihe: Deborah Kerr, Stewart Granger n’ibirangirire bya Hollwood mu gihugu cy’imisozi igihumbi, mu mikoro macye y’icyo gihe, baratubwira inkuru y’umugore wagiye gushaka umugabo we rwagati muri Afurika.
