We watched vast numbers of apocalyptic movies during our months-long work on this year's Genre Cinema section. But none was as wacky as this 1975 gem featuring a pre-Miami Vice Don Johnson, a talking dog, and an underground theocracy that uses fertile young men as sperm donors. We have no idea what the authors were on when they made the film, but they have come up with a real barnstormer.
