The year is 1967 and the prison where Major Nemat Jahed works is being evacuated. While the prisoners are being transferred, he receives good news: his promotion. The bad news: a prisoner under his watch has vanished. Greece is the only European country to have screened The Warden. In contrast, Iran loved the film despite its lack of comedy content.
