Winner of the 1960 Golden Lion in Venice, Le Voyage en ballon is one of four films by Albert Lamorisse that uses Hélivision, an aerial photography tech­nique he had invented (he also invented the board game Risk). It follows a bal­loonist and his stowaway grandson as they embark on an epic aerial voyage across France.
