It is 2022 and the Earth has become a colossal furnace which is threatening to implode. New York has become dangerously overpopulated and polluted. The Earth's natural resources have been exhausted and its wretched residents survive on 'Soylent Green', a synthetic food replacement. By chance, a detective discovers the disturbing secret ingredient in these life-saving wafers.
