The first feature-length fiction film of a female Haitian director in her own country, Ayiti mon amour takes place in a small village of fishermen who have been cut off from the world since the earthquake in January 2010. Three characters animate this fairytale: Orphée, who is grieving for her father and discovers she has a strange power; Juares, an old fisherman who looks after his ailing wife; and Ama, a character from an unfinished novel who comes to life.
