Goodbye, Grandpa! is the director’s first feature film and is a tender yet stinging comedy about funerals. Yoshiko learns her grandpa has died while she is in the throes of passion on a hot summer's day. And her family, which has been in disarray for some time, comes together for better or worse around the body, but no one mourns and the widowed grandmother is senile.
